Monday morning

Good Morning everyone,
it's the day job today but that's okay.........,I like my day jobs and I'm pretty good at it.
I do have a few projects onthe go and I'm excited what I can make with the dyed fabrics ive done.
My poor hubby spent yesterday with me looking for a peice of drainpipe to do the shibori ( I'll try to do a video to show.  You how to do it onWednesday when im off) ,
Hubby is so patient....
Well have a lovely day I'm off  to stroke my dyed fabrics!

Shibori fabrics

Good morning everyone,
I had a lovely day yesterday with a lady called Janice Gunner who showed us how to do shibori dying which is an old Japanese way of dying. It's still the way they dye some of their specialist fabrics today.
she does have a book out called " shibori" if you want to have a go , I thought it was easy to do.
Here's the outcome of my efforts,

Dye day workshop

Good morning all,
I'm off to a workshop today to learn shibori dying which is a type of dying fabric involving wrapping the fabrics and tying them to make some lovely patterns.
I shall put up a few pictures tomorrow once I've done some"
It's a lovely day here sunny and warm so I hope it stays like tis so I can enjoy the garden tommo.

Paddington bear

Good Morning everyone,
I've had a busy couple of days , I have made a baby quilt and a little teddy for my day job boss who's leaving. They're for his kids obviously LOL I don't think he'd like a pink teddy!
I'm busy finishing off my competion peice back as it needs to be neat and able to hang.doubt Ill win as they're is alot of talented people in my embroidery guild.But as chair I don't want to win they may think its fixed!

Hospital today

good Morning everyone.
I am a sleepyheads today and its a warm day agian , I'm off the day job as I have a appointment at the hospital later for some routine tests.
Won't have much time to sew though ........although am hoping I can enjoy the sunshine a bit.

Sample bracelets

Good morning everyone , I managed to complete two more bracelets which are actually referred to as sample bracelets as they have several types of beading techniques in them . Rather handy way of having samples to hand I thought.

Not sure what ill bead next.....
Am doing some hand embroidery at the moement.

Bead bracelet & snowy

Good morning everyone,
At last Ive finished the bracelet I started earlier in week,
I got the lovely beads from the discount bead shop in Vegas, the lovely lady gave me the pattern too I found it was quite an easy pattern for a starter.
I had to show Snowy as well he is so happy were back he hasn't left my side .......he is so spoilt!

Also just to let you all know I'm gutted that England's out of World Cup.......but we didn't play well really...there's always the Euro cup !

Anyway have a nice day I'm off to the Embroidery guild today to see a wonderful speaker Janette Bright.

Beading

Good morning everyone,
I am at the moement making a beaded bracelet and learning how to bead!
The lovely lady at Sweet beads helped me purchase a great book which I haven't put down since I bought it called " the beads bracelet" I would recommend this to anyone it's step by step and great pictures.

I hope to have finished a bracelet by Saturday so ill show photo then , don't want to show off till its finished!

Day off

Firstb day off after hols and as I'm so shattered I'm just going to do the least amount of housework and      Then spend rest of day playing with my beads I bought from the lovely lady at Sweet Beads in Vegas. I'm learning how to bead using seed beads and its so fiddley but the results are good.
Hopefully ill have a sample to show you later!
Well I suppose I must dash and make start on housework!

Chilhuly glass

Hi everyone I thought I would share some photos I took at the Bellagio hotel in Vegas which houses some lovely glass that Chilhuly makes he is such a talented artist.
I get alot of inspiration from him and for my exam final peice last year I used his glass as starting point for my silk bowls. I sent an email to him and I Recieved a lovely email from him and a few days later a book came! So nice that a big name like him should bother with little old me!
when I win lottery I'm going to buy a peice of his work its so fab. They have a shop in Bellagio and you can look and take photos there , the guy was so helpful.id recommend a visit if you go to Vegas.

Im back!

Oh what a lovely holidays in Vegas,
So hot though most days over 100 degrees so I had factor 50 on most of time so no  sun tan !
I saw some lovely inspirational ideas out there. I went to the Bellagio hotel foyer and saw their flower display which was fab. They change it regularly and I always look forward to it. Here's some photos of it. Ill share more news tomorrow now I'm back .
First day back at day job today so I'm sure ill be shattered! Miss my buddies though!
