Community day

good Morning everyone. I'm such an early riser and sometimes I wish I wasn't!
My lovely doggies wake me up they don't know it's Saturday! So I was up at 6 am.......
Just got all my things ready for today's community day where we are making tiny quilts for the premature baby unit .
I havent done any quilting or patchwork for ages so am looking forward to it. And a day sewing with friends is always a good day out!

Teddy

Good morning everyone,ive posted this little fella today as I saw him peeping out of my storage box. I made him from handmade  felt and he's so cute. I was. Supposed to sell him but. Icant! Ever time I go to a fair I leave him out of the box,he's just so cute.I know at my age I should have out grow teddies ....but do we ever?
I think he deserves a place on my bedroom shelf! I have made others for my friend s when they have had babies but this was my first one so he's special.
it's a rainy day here today and I have to do. Long drive to mother in laws , could do without it but we promised we would go....so no sewing for me today .
Hope you all manage to have time for a bit of sewing and creative time.

3d white work flower

Good morning everyone, busy day yesterday so didnt get chance to come on here I'm afraid.
However last night whilst looking for another peice of work I came across this white work flower.
I did it a couple of years ago for an Embroidery guild exhibition . It's using tyvek which is what makes the actual flower. It is quite a complex process but rather effective I think.
I have done a few workshops on the process I used. If I can work out how to do it I will try to put on here as a short video!
Ive nearly done Grandmas tribute but its took longer than I anticipated which is a nuisance as I have so many other projects to start! My hands  don't work fast enough sometimes !

Pearl bag

Good  morning everyone. I'm off today so I shall be stitching and designing some new embroiderys today Horray!!!
My poor doggy has to go to vet as well to have a test done this morning but once I've done that the day is mine.
I've posted a picture of my embroidered pearl bag that I had in my exhibition recently , it got some good reviews from visitors.

I shall be doing some classes at Craft Arena, essex UK showing how to make bags with a frame on it.
I need to get a couple more samples done really......

Monday morning

Good morning everyone, well it's Monday so Im at the day job today, I do enjoy it as its total opposite of my creative work. I work in banking industry helping customers with various things. I do enjoy meeting people and helping them .
I also enjoy my creative work though and yesterday I spent most of the day sewing my Grandmas Tribute and its nearly done. It's a very special peice as my Grandma showed me so many techniques and crafts to be able to use . She helped me stitch my dollys clothes when I was just 4 years old ! I made from all her off cuts. My sister and I spent may happy days in Grandmas sewing / dining room.
She had an old singer machine and my sister and I took it in turns to turn handle while the other one fed material through it to sew the seams.
I'm off tommorrow so I'm hoping to finish it and show you it tommorrow .

Sunday

Well todayis my rest day where I relax and do a little sewing......so I shall be doing both of those things! Ive nearly finished  myGrandmas Tribute and I can't wait to show everyone. Hopefully today it will be done.
My next project shall come from my ideas box, whilst I was studying my textiles course I saved up lots. Of bits of paper,adverts, photos etc to use as  inspirations fora new project .
Great way to always have an idea to start a design from so I'm never stuck for ideas in fact if I'm  honestt the box is overflowing now!
Well I'm off now I'm having my food delivery soon so best get the fridge sorted out!

Paper bag sample

Good morning , well it's day off today and I have allocated today to do my finishing off  Grandmas Tribute, it's coming together really well.
I also thought I'd share this sample picture of the mixed media peice I did a while ago .its actually a brown paper bag!i painted,treated and embellished it to produce this interesting sample.
I hope you like it I took it to my talk and it caused quite a stir !
They were intrigued by it.

Sewing companions

Today I shan't be sewing at all and it's my day off! I have to take car to garage and go food shopping.

I'm going to have a play day tommorrow I really need to finish Grandmas tribute And make a start on some things for my exhibition in a couple of years that I'm doing with my freind.I can't seem to get motivated for that at all I don't know why .......

Also am waiting for some new purse frames so I can make up some purses to sell I need the stock if I'm to do a market in the spring....so much to do so little time! I need more hands!
Oh the picture is my dogs who always chill when I'm sewing they are such good companions and are always complimentary wagging tails to show me how happy they are when I ask their opinion!

Top hat

Good morning everyone, at last the weather here is calming down so at least I can look forward to spring which is a wonderful time with all the birds tweeting and singing.

I made this recently for a night out all made from recycled materials ,  I had loads of compliments which is nice.its a little fascinator it does have elastic on it to keep it on my head. I have alot of hair so it needed something to hold it on my head!

I might do a workshop on this as it only took an hour to make and it is effective.

Butterfly

Good morning everyone , it's a very wet and cold day here in London and I have to go to my day job! I'd rather stay in and sew in the warm with my pooches but I have to go out in horrid weather.

I've put my butterfly bag on here to remind me of spring time which should be just around the corner!

Pearl choker

Good morning , well it's my day off today and my plan is to do as little housework as possible and as much sewing as I can! I've put the picture of my pearl choker on here as I wanted to show that I make wearable art so I can enjoy my creativity by "showing it off" rather than just hanging on a wall.
I always get compliments when I wear it its more a spring/ summer item .

Monday morning

Got my day job today and although I love it Ive got so. Many projects I want to do. Hubby is still laid up with broken ankle and I'm still being nursemaid !
Hopefully he will be getting cast off tomorrow , then he'll be bit more mobile I hope.
I have been sketching for the exhibition with my friend ill share some initial sketches tomo when I've sorted out a bit ! I'm not a tidy person when I'm creating I'm afraid!
Looking into showing the exhibition at a place in E3 where artists reside.
Exhibition is called Parallell Pathways II based on our religious beliefs so it should be quite though provoking we hope.
anyways have a nice day ill post some pictures later or tommorrow.

Mixed media book cover so far

Here is the book cover Ive done so far, had to time myself as I have been asked to do it for a 2 hour class. Takes time to dry between layers thank goodness for hair dryer!
Ill post the finished piece once its done.

I'm waiting for the top coat of varnish to dry so onto next project........

Grandmas tribute

here's the latest mixed media project I'm doing , need some feedback from my readers please. Is there too much on it ? I'm stitching into it as well with simple x stitches and long stitches ..also got some tiny beads in pinky metallic to use around picture.

Trampunto quilted tote bag

Here's another project I've managed to finish.
I'm of to my see my friends today , Tomorrow is another play day for me Tommorrow , I love Ssundays! Quiet days where I can relax with my dogs and sew.

This tote is made using tramp unto quilting and I used hand dyed fabrics too. I will use it alot for transporting my projects .

Weather

Well I have had a lazy day! Didnt finish much of my project iwanted to do but I
Did some sewing and made a lace heart for my lovely sister and. Posted to her as she lives up. North of the country.Ido miss her.....she also is very skilled at sewing she makes dresses for herself.

It been storms here and so much rain! However we are lucky as wee not flooded like some people in other parts of. UK.
Tommorrow I'm off to the Embroiderers Guild where I am chairman to enjoy some time with my friends.

Good morning

Just having my first cup of tea ! I'm deciding what to do today with my creativity not sure if I should sew? Paint? Got to do boring stuf like housework today as well!
Finished a bag yesterday here it is! I used antique embroidery from my stash for the centre picture of butterfly.i love butterfly's and this isn't for sale I'm using this!
It's also one I use for my workshop s to show as sample.

The blue heart button is special too as my sister gave it me . She often sends me bits and bobs I use in my work.
So off I go now to do some sewing I think!

Heart in lace

Ive had few enquiries whether I make the lace hearts to sell. I wasn't planning on it but now I've been asked to make a few ill make some to sell.

Heart

This is my valentine project , it's a little lavender bag. All made by hand stitching. I use to put in my clothes drawer or as a worry bag to fiddle with as I am a fidget!
smells lovely!
May make a few more as was fun to use up my lace bits.

Day off tomorrow so I can play all day and create! I love my day job but I love to play as well!
Here's something else I've made to give you an idea of what play means to me!

A couple of cuffs made from leather. These are mine although I have sold a few as well.

Thought I'd share my little seahorse made from gold work , he is my first attempt at serious gold work.
Next project is for my exhibition " parallel pathways 2 " me and a freind are doing a comparison in textiles of  our two different religions. It should be really good bt such alot of work to be done for it!

Bed for me now.....after a busy day playing.going to finish of my Shabbychic picture with Grandma on Wednesday when I'm off work.

Dogs are asleep already.     On my sofa ...very naughty!

Had a lovely afternoon , promised hubby cake and promised self a play here's the results of both so far!

Forgot to say had a great welcome at south end embroidery guild yesterday . Lovely ladies . Talk went really well and my work was well Recieved so Thanks Ladies.

I'm off today so  having a lovely play day awaiting shopping delivery . Doing some sketching and some prep next embroidery for the exhibition.
Also got a great new teqnique to try so I'm off to do it right now before I forget my idea!

Doing my first talk today at South End embroidery guild.
Am a bit nervous ........hope I'm interesting enough for them!
Taking alot of textile art for them to see.
