Leather. Cuff

Good morning everyone , well I had a lovely play day yesterday I made a lovely leather cuff.
I was given the natural leather cuff at the excel last week when I was cheeky and asked the leather stall if I could have it as he had them as samples to show how to stamp into the leaner , I did buy some gold leather from him so I wasn't that cheeky really....
Anyways here's the leather cuff and the stages of the decoration I did, I love it and I shall wear it alot as I love green.

Transfer dyed book cover

I thought I'd share this with everyone as I bought some lovely transfer dyes at the Embroidery guild  last week. They are lovely bright colours and I did some stamping on top with the new swirly stamps I bought as well . Then I stitched into it and added some beads.

Today I'm off and for the first time in ages I have the house to myself  and just the doggies for company so I can play all day...........fabulous!

Doodle book

Good Morning everyone, I told you last week I went to the Excel for the Textiles Art exhibition.
Well I was lucky enough to get onto a mini workshop so I've posted the little books we made. They  were fun to do and I'm using mine as a doodle book which I use to doodle before I go to work and I create little patterns and designs to play about with.
This is a great idea to get the creative juices flowing and the book is so tactile!

karen woods workshop

Well I have. Had such a busy weekend! I went to the Embroiderers Guild AGM on Saturday and met some wonderful people . I also went to a fabolously creative workshop in the afternoon with a lady called Karen Woods who is a textile artist who does all sorts of textile art. She taught us how to start with a screen print and then paint it then collage on some fabrics then stitch on top of it. We never had time to finish the samples but I managed to paint mine up in the sessions and I can't wait till my day off to start the fabric collage on top.
Here's my samples , . The Queens head is Karens sample she used to show us the drawing with stitch technique . I am going to build up more layers on Her Majesty so ill post some more pictures on WEdnesday once I've done some layering.

Excel exhibition

I had a lovely day yesterday at the textile exhibition, my friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. The quilts and the textile art on show was fascinating and so beautiful.
Some people are so clever! We each did a mini workshop and made a lovely little handmade book .
So I did manage some stitching!
Was totally shattered last night went to bed at 9 pm Tired, happy and broke as there was some good traders there as well.
I'm off the the Embroiderers. Guild National AGM today so have a long drive so I'm guessing another tiring day!
I have  to rest tomorrow or my MS will play me up and that won't be good, legs already stinging a bit.
So ill update you again tomorrow after another busy day!

Busy times

Good morning everyone,
Well today is last day in day job for the week as I worked an extra day this week I'm shattered and tomorrow I'm going to a exhibition and as well on Saturday! So I need an early night tonight!
No time again to sew ill have to wait until Sunday however tomorrow will be fab so I'm not too disappointed !
Need to be concentrating on day job anyways as there's alot of change going on at the moment and my little brain struggles to remember stuff now I'm older! I like day job though so I am lucky to enjoy doing something I like and getting paid for it!
Well I hope you all have a nice day ill try to catch up tomorrow but busy day tomorrow as I'm at the exhibition and need to leave early.

Meeting

Oh dear I'm sooo tired had to getup early as have a meeting all day in day job !
No time today for any creative work illbe having to use my logical side. Of the brain!
Onthe upside ill see all my freinds and collegues who I don't see every day.
Well must dash so I can be on time at meeting!
