Bark background

Well good morning everyone, not blogged for a couple of days been really busy at the day job.
I'm off now for a few days which is nice so I am already playing!,,
I've managed to do the background bark for the competition peice at the Embroidery guild in July . I just need to make sure I finish it in time as I do have about 5 projects on the go and I'm doing a workshop for making purses on Saturday!
It's good to be busy though.
Here's. the bark background, it's mixed media at the moment but ill be stitching into it.

Lady bugs finished

Hi everyone,
I've managed to finish the main embroidery of the tiny lady bugs I'm usin on my tree bark embroidery they just need little wire legs which ill add after they are on main embroidery .
At my day job today but off from Wednesday for a few days  so illbe able to,play !

Good Morning ,I'm off thedaynjobtoday and I sewing littlelady birds.  I am hoping to finish today so I can post tommo . They are so fiddley as they are only as bigas my fingernail!

Must go need to  finish them  today !

Mulberry bark

HI everyone,
I thought I'd post a picky of the painted mulberry bark background I'm going to use for the 10x10 competition. I've done a design roughly which ill refer to as I go along , but basically it's a snapshot of a peice of bark with moss.
, flowers, weeds, and bugs on it.im going to layer up the bark to add interest and texture so the bark is background but it will be textured.
I wasn't that excited about the competition but now I've started it I am!!

Tired

Good morning.
I feel very tired today done three days in row at work and I'm not used to it any more so feeling worn out.
Doubt ill be doing any sewing today , got a busy day at work too .......as usual!
Off tomo so ill rest over the weekend so I'm refreshed next week. It's not helping that Snowy my little pal is snoring on sofa next to me!

Quilt sample

Here's a little sample of the design I'm using for the quilted cushion I'm doing for the exhibition. It's come a bit wrinkly but that's why I do  samples to see what errors may occur before I do the main panel.
I like the pattern though so I'm gonna stuff the larger area and see if that makes it look better.
That's the whole point of a sample!
 Well I'm at my day job today so must dash and get ready .

Backtowork

I'm backtowork today after the Easter weekend.its raining here soo I don't mind going to work!

I've enjoyed  playing with my crafts, I also managed to tidy up. My work station which to. Be honest was a  bit out of. Hand!
Now i just need to do my sewing machine room.....my hand sewing area is ok I have a lovely big cupboard my hubby bought me which I stack/ hide everything in!

Getting on with my exhibition stuff too I'm doing another small sample of one peice, Ive realised that samples are great way to see if the final peice will work . Must be the C&G effect! I learnt alot doing that course over past few years.
I have been approached to do the diploma but I am enjoying doing my own thing at the moement. Plus it's very expensive, maybe ill do after this exhibition if I sell enough work....
